If you don't find the answer to your question here, please feel free to contact us by email or call us.

Can I check in early?  We respectfully request that you try to schedule your checkin time after 3pm so that we may have the opportunity to prepare your room as well as other guest rooms for the night.  During the time between checkout and checkin numerous daily routines are performed such as cleaning, room service, food preparation, shopping for supplies, daily and occassionally emergency maintenance, so that the inn is ready for your enjoyment after 3pm.  We are tremendously grateful for your understanding in this matter.

Do you have televisions in the rooms?  In the beginning when we opened our B&B 10 years ago, we thought we add televisions in the B&B.  However, we were and continue to be overwhelmed by the number of guests who comment on the peace and quiet they have enjoyed by not having a tv available during their stay.  So, no, we have opted to be one of the approximately 50% of all B&B's that do not have televisions.  If you are interested in watching a particular sporting event, both the Anvil Restaurant and the Pub have televisions in the bar areas.

Do you have wireless access?  Yes, please ask us for the wireless passkey and you'll be set to go.

Do you have jacuzzis?
Our home was built in the 1870's and we consider it to be a well preserved piece of the past that many of us rarely get to experience.  While restoring this home, we opted for the authentic bathroom elements from the period, such as clawfoot tubs and one tub that is actually original to the house when plumbing was first added.  Therefore, we do not have jacuzzis, and our guests often rave at the opportunity to experience these authentic achitectural elements; a nice bubble bath or soak in a clawfoot tub is really quite relaxing.  To learn more detail about our guest rooms, please visit our Guest Room Page.

Where are you located?  We are located on the main street of Harpers Ferry, Washington Street in the Historic Residential area of the town.  The National Historic Park was established to prevent Historic Landmarks from disappearing due to damage from repeated flooding by the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers.  Our location as well as all other lodging locations in Harpers Ferry are located up the hill, out of the flood plain.   Our Location page will help you with directions to find us.

Do you have a view of the river from the B&B?  We are located in the historic residential area of the Upper Town, and while from our inn itself you do not see the river, wonderful views are just a few blocks away.  The residential area is full of the old time 'main street' feeling from days gone by and hundreds of guests each year comment on the relaxation that our front porch provides.

The shot of from the river that is on our webpage was taken by Bryan Kelly during a fishing trip.  If you will be fishing, rafting, kayaking, or tubing when you visit, you may have the opportunity to see this view from the confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers.

Do you have bathrooms in the guest rooms?  All of our guest rooms have PRIVATE BATHS.  The Remington Room, Fenwick Room and McKenzie Room have their private bath located within the guest room area, or ensuite.  The Wager Room has it's PRIVATE bath located just a few steps across the hall from the main part of the guest room.  This bath while located on the hall, is private to the Wager Room and no other guests use it.  Robes are provided in the Wager Room to access the Bath.

Do I have to go fishing to stay at the Angler's Inn?
No, we welcome guests with all interests.  Our decor is comfortable and welcoming to everyone.

Do I have to stay at the Angler's Inn to hire a guide?
No, most fishing trips orginate from the Inn, but about 30% of our trips orginate from nearby boat landings or restaurants.  If you would prefer, you may drive in for the day or stay at any other motels/hotels in the area.

How do I get to and from the boat ramp if I am fishing with you?  For most trips, we provice a shuttle service that is part of your fishing rate.

Do you allow pets?  Sorry, but the Health Department does not allow us to host pets.

Can I bring children?  We can accommodate children 12 and over at the B&B and children 16 and over on fishing trips.

Do you allow smoking?  We allow smoking on the front porch and side patio.  The inn and all guest rooms are non-smoking.

How far is the Angler's Inn from major airports?  We are located about 50 minutes from Dulles International Airport.  BWI and Reagan National are about 1 hour 15 minutes away.

Can I take the train to Harpers Ferry?  Both Amtrak and MARC trains stop in Harpers Ferry.  MARC runs only Monday thru Friday.  The train station is located in the Lower Town.  We are pleased to meet you at the train station upon arrival and bring you to the B&B.  We will also take you back to the train station when it is time for your departure.

Is the Angler's Inn open during the off season?  We are open year around.  Please check with us for holiday schedules.  The National Park is open everyday except Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
